Supply chain
What we do
Our first step in helping clients to improve their supply chain is to understand it as it is. So we analyse procurement, distribution and service to customers, and the relationships that support each interface. Then we apportion costs and find potential weak points. Our recommendations will include a balance of new managerial controls, better ways of managing costs, and streamlined working practices. The scope might be pan-European distribution; warehousing and transport in the UK; or a supply chain in the United States.
The result is usually a slimmer organisation, with less but better motivated people, more efficient processes and substantially reduced costs.
How we do it
Good decision making depends on reliable and comprehensive data. Collinson Grant uses a number of powerful, analytical tools to collect and interpret the often confusing information contained in sales ordering, planning and fulfilment systems. The results give managers a much better picture of what has been going on and the scope for improvement. We help them to execute a series of inter-linked initiatives to secure better service for customers at reduced cost.
Our experience includes:
- consolidating the supply chain in the United Kingdom for the leading distributor of Caterpillar plant
- reviewing warehousing operations in Germany for a major supplier to the retail and distribution markets
- improving customers’ ordering processes, product planning and service for a market leading, lighting manufacturer throughout Western Europe.
