Process improvement

What we do

Understanding how work gets done – how efficiently resources are converted into outputs – is at the heart of management consultancy. More often than not, tasks and activities are grouped together into processes that are designed to achieve the organisation’s goals. We help managers analyse existing streams of work, re-design activities and develop robust new processes. An important component is to illustrate the benefits of new ways of working and to capture the enthusiasm of front-line staff in implementing them.

How we do it
Observing and measuring work is the essence of process improvement. Collinson Grant uses a number of tools to develop flow charts and sophisticated process maps: plotting time, resources and controls. We review these with managers to pinpoint the weak spots, eliminate redundant tasks and streamline activities. This is the starting point for introducing new approaches that achieve more and cost less.

Our experience

Helping managers to implement better processes is a common theme of our work. From early assignments in manufacturing and service sectors, we have extended this approach to all sectors of industry and commerce, as well as large government departments, executive agencies and non-departmental public bodies. It has helps clients to achieve better service to customers at reduced cost.
