Collinson Grant has proved its ability to work alongside some of the largest companies in the United Kingdom and in North America. McKesson Corporation ranks as the 20th largest industrial company in the United States. It is the leading supplier of information, products and services for care management, which are designed to reduce costs and improve quality in healthcare. There are more than 20,000 employees.
We supported McKesson Information Systems in the UK in its plans to restructure the business and secure better returns in an increasingly competitive market. A multi-disciplinary team worked with the local managers to analyse the core streams of work, determine how tasks were allocated and assess the profitability of different business units.
We devised and implemented a plan to reduce costs quickly whilst maintaining the ability to respond to new opportunities. A programme to reduce the number of jobs and manage consultations with trades unions was put in place. And in France, we helped to appraise the pros, cons and potential costs of a proposed acquisition. Most recently, we have offered an external challenge to the strategic planning process, assessing the organisation against its ability to meet future demands.
At McKesson, we demonstrated how we could move quickly to secure successful results in changing market conditions. Our assignments frequently centre on improving the performance of European subsidiaries to match the expectations of their British or American parent companies.
