Cooper Industries
Complexity is a certainty in managing a large international group. The growth of
legislation, which has been only partially harmonised within the European Union,
is mirrored by employees’ heightened familiarity with their rights. Human resources
professionals have to assimilate reforms in increasingly litigious settings. Line
managers constantly handle problems with people. Their obligations to deliver better
performances and to respond to unpredicted events depend on access to specialist
skills.
Cooper Industries is a global business: it has been a client since 1974. The company
has its headquarters in Houston, Texas and has manufacturing facilities in twenty-two
countries across six continents. The business manufactures, markets and sells electrical
products, security systems, tools and hardware.
We have sustained a relationship that has allowed us to support Cooper’s activities
throughout the United Kingdom. A team of colleagues advises managers on the efficient
use of people. We comment as well on the implications, problems and opportunities
for employee relations and managing change.
